‘Vox Populi’ explores the idea of vocalising the wearer’s identity through a democratic way of dressing whereby the wearer decides how they are going to dress themselves. There is no specific guideline to wearing the collection. Through this, erasing the stigma of having to wear any garment in a certain way.

“Sign, as a rule are authority. Unofficial signs are made by the public who think for one reason or another that official signs fails to meet their need. Unofficial signs are the visual voice of the people, a graphic vox populi”.

This idea is translated to the collection by deconstructing and mixing archetypes of safety-wear and sportswear due to the demographics of the site-specific research, which is mainly construction workers and joggers. The design details are inspired by safety-wear —like reflective tapes and functional pockets— and activewear —like the use of 4-way-stretch and weatherproof material— that creates a hybrid of safety and functionality.
